You know something's wrong when all the radio stations suddenly started playing Michael Jackson music non-stop. It's not like I don't like them, in fact I like them very much. But it's just plain weird when all the songs being played were all MJ's. Like I recalled, that day was raining pretty heavily as if the heavens were mourning over something. But nothing could prepare me for the annoucement that came over the radio. Michael Jackson dead, due to cardiac arrest. There was no warning whatsover on his sudden death. Sure he had a few medical problems, but it wasn't like he's dying in a hospital bed and couldn't get up. What's more... he's just 50 years old. Pretty young age to get a cardiac arrest.
Born in August 29, 2009 and died at June 25, 2009... just 2 months shy from his 51st birthday. That and he's just a few months away from returning to live performances. Who in this age, haven't heard his trademark 'Ow!' shout or seen his crotch-grabbing, moonwalking dance sequences? Even my parents said if he had came to Malaysia to perform, they would have go to the concert.... even if it's RM 500 per person. That's a lot considering that my parents had never ever attended a concert before, claiming that they are a waste of money.
Forget about his suspected pedophile charges, his weird behaviour and his dubious cosmetic surgeries. He was known more for selling so many top hits, one of them including 'Thriller' which was untill recently, the top selling album of all time. Heck, he even had a patent on one of his moves, the 'anti-gravity' lean! If you don't know what that is... here's a picture...
And so, here's his famous Thriller video... just because I loved it so much when I first saw it as a kid, even if it did scare me a little. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. Every time I order a soya cincau to drink, I shall always remember you.
